Floresta Parque Golf Club
Trial Change to Competition Rules – May 2016 only
Dear Members,
We are always conscious that member’s requirements from their golf, and their golf club, are different.
When putting together the competition lists we try to find the balance between qualifying competitions and fun competitions, between White Tee and Yellow Tee competitions and between singles, pairs and team events.
As an experiment we would like to try the following change during May – from Sunday 1st May until Sunday 29th May in ALL non-qualifying Competitions – players may choose which tee to play from and use the appropriate handicap from the slope index (Men Whites or Yellows, Ladies Reds or Yellows). Obviously the entire round must be played from the chosen tee colour, please ensure that your card clearly shows which tee was used.
This should ensure that members who play in all club competitions in May are only obliged to play in one White tee competition in the month.
This change is designed to give our members the opportunity to choose which option suits their own game best. At the end of May we will ask members for feedback on their preference – revert to specified tees or stay with the choice. If we decide to adopt this change in future it will not apply in any Honours Board competitions or in any GSA events unless advised separately by GSA
Please be aware of the possibility of play being a little slower if members of the same 4 ball are playing from different tees – and speed up a little to compensate.
This change will apply to the following competitions only during the trial period
Sunday 1st May – AM/AM Wednesday 4th May – Pairs Betterball Medal
Sunday 8th May – Cha Cha Cha Sunday 15th May – Pairs Betterball Stableford
Wednesday 18th May – Texas Scramble Wednesday 25th May – American Greensomes
Sunday 29th May – Yellow Ball
It will NOT apply to the following
Wednesday 11th May – Singles Stableford (Yellow Tees)
Friday 13th May – Past Captains Trophy (White Tees)
Sunday 22nd May – Singles Medal (White Tees)
