1. Company Matters
1.1. There have been no further developments since the email that was sent to members regarding the situation with GSA.
2. Apologies
2.1. Geoffrey Harnett gave his apologies.
3. Approval of minutes
3.1. The minutes were approved by the Captain.
4. Treasurer’s Report
4.1. We are on target to meet the proposed budget for this year.
4.2. Only one of last year’s team shirts remain to be sold.
4.3. The Captain will provide the prizes for Captain’s Day and these are all organised. The cost of the meal will be €25, which can be paid for in vouchers.
4.4. Members Charity Day on 16th September. The cost is €10 for the Captain’s charities, the club are providing prizes up to the value of €500. A fully subsidised Members day will be held later in the year when the Covid 19 situation improves.
4.5. Net assets available are €19,630.77
5. Handicap Report
5.1. The new Handicap system is now in place. A new handicap list now cannot be printed until the day after a qualifying competition but members can look up their handicaps on the MyFPG website on the morning following the competition.
5.2. Should anyone have any queries regarding their handicap, please email the club and your query will be answered as soon as possible.
5.3. Rod Smith has had an email from the R&A setting out the position for those members who have handicaps in the UK and in Portugal, this will be posted on the website.
6. Captains Update
6.1. Bunkers, the local rule enabling players to lift and place in bunkers if their ball is in a footprint or repair scrape remains in place until the end of the year.
6.2. In conjunction with Mario and awareness of the Covid 19 regulations the evening meal will be restricted to tables of six which will be placed by the open windows. The prize giving will be at 18.30 and will be held outside on the area behind the 18th green. Members will be emailed immediately about these arrangements.
6.3. With regard to the Captain’s away, Brian Newsham will visit Rompido at the beginning of October to discuss what may be possible. A decision as to whether or not to postpone until next year will be made then.
7. AOB
7.1. The drop zones on holes 11, 12 and 15 are defined by the closely mown areas of grass.
7.2. Members are asked to email the club if they have any queries about any club matters and the query will be passed to the committee member best qualified to answer.
7.3. The Captain v Vice Captain match will take place on the 25th September, there will be no food afterwards.
