COMPETITION UPDATE

Dear Members

For those of you who have had the privilege to play over the last couple of weeks we hope you have enjoyed your golf. We would like to update you after our latest Zoom chat on the situation going forward.

-Competition golf will resume as of the 24th of May, the competitions will be played according to the schedule. The sheets will be on a provisional club board outside the pro shop but please bring your own pencil and rubber to write with. Tee times are available from 11h-13h.
-No cards are to be signed or exchanged by the player, only the marker. So, in singles or 2 balls you write the names on the card of your fellow competitors, not your own. At the end of the round the cards are to be checked verbally hole by hole and then signed by the marker. The marker then will send the opponents card. Please don’t forget to check handicaps.
-Until the 15th of June cards are to be sent via e-mail or phone to michael.palmeiravillas@sapo.pt or 965325255. For those who are playing within this period I will also start a whatsapp group where you can send me the cards also. Please just let me know before hand and I will add you to the group if you prefer. Cards are to be sent on that afternoon / evening and I will post the results the following day.
-Singles will be counted as qualifiers. To count, part of the ball must be in the hole below the putting surface.
-There will be no entry fee or 2´s until after the 15th of June. No vouchers will be given out either. The committee will review the situation weekly and if this changes the members will be informed.
-The water supply in the shed will still remain closed.

The club house will be open also from the 24th and Mario has asked if we could all please respect the rules, no exceptions. The safer we stay the better for us all in the long run.

Unfortunately, I am sure most of you are aware that the interclub 2020 season has been cancelled. A great shame for Brian as he was so looking forward to it. We are also trying now to re arrange the past Captains day for December around the Christmas comp and also the Club Championships for around October time but we will keep you posted on the dates. The competition on the 15th of June will be a Monthly Medal off the whites.

Let the competition commence but most importantly enjoy your golf in these difficult times.

Your committee
