Reopening of golf course, restrictions and competition information

1. The shop will be marked out according to the restrictions, please respect them.

2. A mask is to be worn in and around the shop at all times. Payments in the shop should be made electronically via credit card or multibanco.

3. 4 balls are permitted but please respect social distancing.

4. The flags will be left in and are not to be touched. When your ball hits the cup (which will be raised) it will count as being in the hole.

5. Bunkers will have no rakes so please keep them as tidy as possible after your shot using your club and foot to smooth the sand. Consider the players following you. Avoid the bins, ball washers and seating areas.

6. The Members drinking water facility will also be closed for the time being and the toilets on the 6th will be closed.

7. The driving range machine will be out of use and balls for the range must be collected in the pro shop. Some of the bays will also be closed off to maintain the social distancing rules.

Unfortunately, the committee has decided to cancel the knockout competitions for 2020 as we feel there will not be enough time for them to be completed, especially with expected further travel restrictions. Our major/board competitions from March-July which are the Ralph Griffin Spring Trophy, Taça da Liberdade, Captain v Vice Captain, past Captains, Club Championship and Ladies v Men will all be postponed until the Autumn, restrictions permitting.

Keep safe, enjoy your golf and please respect all the rules.

Floresta Parque Golf Club

The Golf Club atmosphere at Floresta Parque is probably the best on the Algarve. You will always find a warm welcome from any member at the Spikes bar. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly and where golfers may swap stories whilst enjoying one of the finest views in the golfing Algarve and enjoy a relaxing drink after a “hard” days golf. The Course is a good challenge to any golfer and an enjoyable day is guaranteed.

Floresta Parque Golf Club was officially formed in 1994, following the acquisition of Parque da Floresta by the Vigia Group. Operated as a traditional Golf Club with a President, Captain, Secretary, Committee, etc., it is now one of 73 clubs affiliated to the Portuguese Golf Federation.

The club has a total of 250 members (including those from overseas) and holds regular golf festivals, twice weekly competitions and boasts a busy social calendar for residents and visitors alike.

Handicap certificates can be issued to members and these are calculated using the “Slope Rating” system, in accordance with European Golf Associations recent directive’s.

Thanks to the “Project Drive”, scheme set up by the Portuguese Federation to encourage under 21’s to become involved in the sport through free weekly golf lessons, the future looks bright for the club to win many more titles!

The Golf Course has a good practice area and its resident golfing professional is always at hand at the driving range for those tips that make all the difference!
