Dear members
Almost a month since my last blog and golf is still being played which is great news for us all. I am sure next month we will see so many of you back on the fairways again, the course is still in great condition and I am sure our members from abroad are looking forward to some Algarve sunshine.
Now that the Spike restaurant is open, our first social evening is planned for the evening of Thursday 20th May. We can meet up, enjoy some food and have some fun playing games organised by Ian and Janice Galloway. Please sign up on the sheet in the Spike Bar.
Next month, June 19th, we will play the Ralph Griffin trophy competition with an evening function where we will also formally celebrate the Captains changeover.
Before the evening commences, Brian will putt out on the 18th and I will drive off the 10th ( white )tee.
In aid of my charities, there will be a chance to buy a ticket to guess the drive distance.
Tickets, €2 per guess or €5 for 3 guesses will be available from Mick. A prize will be awarded to the best guess. In the event of a tie the best guess at the remaining distance to the flag will decide. If anyone wishes to email their guess/guesses with a pledge to pay, then please email to malcberry@hotmail.com.
If you have received an e mail from the FPG regarding a medical for 2021 this applies for golfers who want to play in any FPG organized events and national events only. For our club competitions and interclub this is not needed. We may need to do this in the future and we will keep you updated.
Knockout competitions have also started and for those of you who have entered please remember to get your first round in before the end of May if possible. Good luck to you all.
